Iranian crypto exchanges: what you get and what a trade costs

Buying crypto in Iran can mean placing an order on Nobitex or Bitpin, accepting an instant quote on Wallex, or exchanging tomans for USDT on Tetherland. Those are different purchase flows, with different fee schedules. Here is how nine domestic services line up.

Tomans, USDT and trading fees in 24 seconds

A short original explainer covering the two purchase routes, maker and taker roles, and a trading-fee example. Persian visuals with English subtitles.

Video transcript

A toman market prices the crypto purchase in tomans.

In BTC/USDT, the price of bitcoin is expressed in USDT.

Makers add orders to the book; takers match existing orders.

At 0.25%, a 1,000,000-toman trade costs 2,500 tomans, excluding withdrawal.

Inside each exchange

The order book is at the centre of Nobitex. Buyers and sellers trade in toman or USDT markets, using limit, market and conditional orders. The API provides another way to access market data and account functions from software.

What a trade costs
For the entry tier below 100 million tomans of 30-day trading volume, toman maker and taker fees are both 0.25%. USDT-market fees are 0.10% maker and 0.13% taker. Higher volume tiers have lower rates.

Wallex keeps instant buying separate from its professional markets. One presents a quote for the exchange; the other has an order book and charts. Stop orders and price alerts sit alongside the market tools.

What a trade costs
The entry-level toman spot rate is 0.35%, with reductions linked to trading volume. Instant buying is offered with zero explicit trading commission and its own buy and sell quotes.

Bitpin puts easy buying, spot trading, staking and crypto-backed loans under one account. Easy buying runs on quotes; spot trading uses an order book. Lending and staking have their own terms and charges.

What a trade costs
Base tier 1 charges 0.30% maker and 0.35% taker in both toman and USDT markets. Trading volume and account assets affect the tier. Easy buying has no separate trading commission and uses quoted buy/sell prices.

Tabdeal has an easy-buy section for direct conversions and a spot market for placing orders at a specified price. Price alerts and an API round out the trading tools. Leveraged products occupy a separate part of the service.

Spot fees depend on the volume tier, with a maximum rate of 0.35%. The charge is deducted from the asset received.

USDT/toman trading remains a central part of Tetherland. Its market, easy-trading service and crypto-to-crypto conversions follow separate routes, which explains their different tariffs. Account tiers reflect the previous 30 days of trading.

The Bronze market rate is 0.29%; easy USDT/toman trading is 0.39%. Crypto-to-crypto conversion carries no separate trading commission.

Aban Tether handles purchases and sales at platform quotes, with tomans or USDT as the payment asset. Balances and order history sit in the account. Toman credit and crypto-backed financing are also part of the service range.

Crypto is one part of Iranicard’s business, alongside foreign-currency payments and gift cards. Its homepage sends crypto purchases to Iranexchange. Quotes, order processing and delivery belong to the service handling that purchase.

Pricing depends on the selected service and order amount. A single maker/taker tariff is not published for the whole service range; payment and delivery amounts are calculated within the order.

Bitbarg places direct crypto buying alongside asset-management products. The crypto purchase flow works with a quoted price rather than an order-book screen. Its current website also brings several asset categories together in one app.

Paying with tomans or USDT

A toman market pays for the purchase from a toman balance. A USDT market uses tether instead. BTC/USDT, for example, expresses the price of one bitcoin in USDT.

The order book lists buyers’ and sellers’ prices and quantities. A limit order specifies a price; a market order matches available orders. Instant buying presents the exchange as a quote with a final output amount.

Maker, taker and the cost of one trade

An order that joins the book and waits is a maker. An order that trades against existing liquidity is a taker. Some exchanges charge makers less; others use the same rate for both at the entry tier.

At 0.25%, a one-million-toman trade costs 2,500 tomans. At 0.20%, it costs 2,000; at 0.35%, 3,500. Those figures exclude withdrawal charges.

The gap between a buy quote and a sell quote is the spread. An instant-buy route can have no separate commission and still quote different buy and sell prices. Network transfer costs are another charge, separate from trading.

Identity tiers and fee tiers

Registration usually starts with a mobile number. Identity and bank details are connected to the account, and verification determines access to deposits and withdrawals.

Fee tiers follow a different calculation, usually trading volume or account assets. Two people with the same verification status can therefore pay different trading rates.

Buying bitcoin, ethereum and solana with tomans

Bitcoin trades as BTC, ethereum as ETH and solana as SOL. A direct toman purchase uses the toman balance. A USDT market uses tether as the payment asset.

There is no need to buy a whole coin. Fractional bitcoin purchases, for example, are possible within the market’s minimum order and decimal precision.

A spot purchase adds crypto to the account balance. Sending it to another wallet is a separate transfer with a receiving address and network. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana each have their own native transfer networks and costs.

Beyond the buy and sell buttons

Charts, limit orders, stop orders and price alerts are familiar parts of a trading screen. An API connects software with markets and accounts, from reading prices to placing orders.

Crypto-backed loans, trading credit and staking are separate services. Their charges and calculation periods differ from spot-trading commissions.
