Start trading for the first time: accounts, wallets and your first order
Choose one task before opening several accounts: exchange an asset, buy a token, trade a perpetual contract, or work with charts. This guide walks through the first steps on Aster, ApeX, NEAR, Axiom, GMGN and TradingView.

Start with your task
Use NEAR for a supported cross-chain swap, Axiom or GMGN for token trading, and Aster or ApeX for perpetual contracts. TradingView provides charts and a simulated trading account. Start with the section that matches your task.
Choose your starting platform ↓Which platform matches what you want to do?
A swap exchanges one asset for another. A spot trade buys or sells the token itself. A perpetual creates a position on price changes, with a long or short direction. A charting tool may only display prices: opening a chart does not buy an asset.
Choose the task first. The platform table below links to the entry point for each service, and the sections explain what to do after entering.
Identify the wallet, account and network before funding
Your wallet balance, exchange balance and platform trading balance are separate records. Connecting a wallet does not necessarily deposit funds. A deposit or internal transfer may be needed before an order can use the balance.
The token symbol alone does not identify a network. Match the sending network to the receiving service. Wallet transfers also use network resources: SOL on Solana or ETH on Ethereum, for example.
A password signs you into an account; a recovery phrase restores a wallet. Ordinary wallet connection uses a request inside the wallet, rather than asking you to type the recovery phrase into a website.
Aster: connect, fund and place the first order
- Use the Aster entry button and select wallet connection or email login.
- Choose the wallet account and network, then confirm the connection in the wallet.
- Open Deposit, select an accepted asset and network, and check the credited trading balance.
- Choose Spot to buy a token or Perpetuals to trade a long or short contract.
- Select a market, amount and order type. Market orders use available prices; limit orders specify a price condition.
Check the order status after submitting. In a perpetual market, Positions shows the position created by a filled order.
Open and get started AsterApeX: why a credited deposit may not yet be tradable
ApeX separates its Funding balance from trading accounts. Enter through the button, connect the account and deposit through a supported network. If funds appear in Funding but not in Perps, use Transfer to move them internally to the trading account.
Then choose the market, direction, size and order type. The dedicated ApeX guide explains deposits, internal transfers and withdrawals in more detail.
Open and get started ApeXNEAR: complete a first cross-chain swap
- Select the asset and network you will pay from.
- Select the receiving asset and network, then enter the amount.
- Copy the receiving address from the destination account and match its network.
- Review the output and quote expiry. Pay according to that order’s instructions.
- Keep the order identifier and follow its status.
An ordinary send does not change USDT from ERC20 to TRC20. That needs a route supporting both networks.
Open and get started NEARAxiom: create an account and find a token
Enter through the button and select Signup. The documented options include email, Google and Phantom. Email registration uses a one-time code followed by the account setup steps.
For funding, use the address shown by the account and match the sending network. Search by token contract address: names can be shared by unrelated tokens. Review the amount, acceptable slippage and costs on the order screen.
Start through this entry point to access signup benefits. Treat a platform fee benefit separately from network and transaction-priority costs.
Start Axiom with signup benefitsGMGN: distinguish account login from external-wallet trading
Select the network and search by token contract address. The token page shows charts, liquidity and trading activity.
Choose how you will trade. Phantom login can create a GMGN account with separate addresses; Trade with Wallet uses an external wallet. Take the deposit address from the account that will actually place the order.
Review amount, slippage and transaction-cost settings. Following a wallet displays its activity; automatic copying has its own setup.
Open and get started GMGNTradingView: practice placing and closing an order
Open a symbol in Supercharts. Choose Trade, then Paper Trading and Connect. This account uses simulated money and lets you practice order entry, position tracking and closing.
A chart subscription is separate from a trading deposit. Compare free and paid plans by the number of charts, indicators and alerts you need.
Open and get started TradingViewCalculate the cost of the first transaction
Separate the platform charge, network cost and final execution price or output. Perpetual positions can also involve funding payments. A platform fee benefit does not remove every transaction cost.
Illustrative example: if a 100-USDT conversion quotes 99 USDT out, examine the one-USDT difference across fees, routing and price effects. This is a calculation example, not a platform tariff.
Troubleshoot page loading, connection and missing deposits
Try another connection or browser when a page will not load; a VPN can also test a different connection route. Country eligibility messages, wallet-network errors and connection failures have different causes.
For wallet connection, inspect the selected account, network and pending connection request. For a missing deposit, match the transaction identifier, network and receiving address to the order. If credited funds cannot be used, distinguish the Funding account from the trading account.
Choose your starting platform
Each button opens that platform’s entry route. Separate platform, network and position-holding costs.

Getting-started questions
Do I need accounts on every platform?
No. Choose by task: swapping assets, buying tokens, perpetual trading or chart analysis.
Does connecting my wallet deposit funds?
No. Connection, deposit and internal transfer are separate operations. Check the account balance and deposit history.
Is the receiving address enough to send USDT?
The network matters too. Sending and receiving networks must be compatible.
Why is a limit order still open?
Submitting an order is different from filling it. The price and matching conditions must be met.
Do signup benefits remove network costs?
Separate platform fee benefits from network charges, transaction priority and funding.
How can I practice without real money?
In TradingView choose Trade, Paper Trading and Connect. The simulated account is separate from a real trading account.
